a great day for us and a step in the rightdirection. can't thank the god lord enough for blessing this day for us and we'll keepgetting better. >> ty dillon wins $100,000. adam?>> sometimes, hermie, you have to look for a turning point in a driver's season or career.i think today could be a little bit of a turning point for ty dillon. his confidence appearedto take a big step. all those dash for cash guys in the top ten had a chance and on thisrestart it went away for a couple of them. >> dale earnhardt jr. talked about the greatstart he got, went to the bottom. justin allgaier came down a little more than poole expected.didn't really see anything that poole did wrong. dale earnhardt jr. didn't do anythingwrong. they were just racing hard.

the wind out of you in a heartbeat.>> i hate that for matt tifft. he was in the top five all day long, certainly didn't getthe finish he deserved. his first opportunity in that 18 car. there's the check, $100,000for ty dillon. last week it was erik jones. >> last week he was the $100,000 dash forcash and the race winner. not the case today for erik jones. difficult day. explain whathappened from the get-go and why the car wasn't there and the accident going into turn one.>> i think racing is a sport of highs and lows and we definitely had our highs lastweekend and lows today. we just got tighter the longer the race went on. didn't have thespeed that i thought we would. just made okay gains all day, i think on the last green flagpit stop we ended up being on the splitter.
overall a disappointing day for sure wrecking.the 48 stayed out on tires and he was quite a bit slower on the field. it wasn't his faultbut there ways pretty big wreck and we got caught up in it. it's a disappointing daybut we'll keep trying. we got good speed. come back next time and try again. [3:20:51 pm] >> at one point you got into mike har man.he was frustratabout that. he spoke with you. what was that conversation?>> it's unfortunate. it's not like i wanted to wreck the guy, just a racing accident aftertwo. hopefully i can talk to him next week. i was pretty upset when he came to talk tome. hopefully we can sort things out. hopefully
we'll get it worked out.>> thanks for the time. >> brennan poole, you stayed on the race trackon the last restart. talk about the decision to stay on the race track and then what happenedon the race track. >> it's funny, chad and i talked about ityesterday and today that that may be a situation that we may be able to play strategy. we decidedto stay out and get the track position. it's tough to pass here. you got to get as muchas you can on these restarts. spun the tires a little from second to third. junior hada big run on me, got inside of me and in turn one we all kind of ran out of room and gottogether and crashed. fortunately we were able to get through it with our camaro andstill battle to get a top ten finish. i learned
a lot. i've never been in that situation beforeso that was cool. a good day all in all. >> brennan poole, exciting down the stretch.>> he ends up inside the top ten, great run for the 48 team, their career best. last yeara 9th place finish at las vegas. good day for him. blake cook, 8th, career best. a lotof good stories out of richmond today. >> including cole custer, we talked abouthe's faster than the word go, battled to a top five finish all the way to the checkeredflag. brendan gaughan, top ten finish. >> i look at ty dillon. he did a great jobfrom the get-go in the heat races, aggressive when he needed to be and smart when he neededto be. that won him 100 grand today. he did a great job in knowing when to go and takecare of his stuff and that's why he's getting
paid. [3:22:54 pm] >> think about that team, interim crew chiefthat's never done this before. i felt like he really took a step today.>> that whole organizations, they came to richmond with fast cars but on that startof the heat when he drove around everybody to the lead he said i'm here to make moneytoday and that's exactly what he did. we heard his crew chief say if ty can do his job outthere, we got a shot at this thing. he got it done.>> 200 laps today. when you look at the overall lap count, 400 tomorrow. what did you takeaway that could apply to tomorrow?
>> interesting with the xfinity cars how theydidn't move around as much as. i think it had to do with the horsepower and the addeddownforce. i definitely learned something there. i'm sure dale earnhardt jr. probablylearned a little more. that car was on fire. he did a great job. it was funny that bothdale and ty remembered what happened last week. typical race car drivers that remembereverything. >> thanks for being here. front row starttomorrow, right? >> yes. i got 400 laps.>> you haven't won yet, no pressure. danielle, a fun afternoon.>> joey logano trying to keep dale earnhardt jr. from pulling off the richmond sweep. joey, great job today. thanks so much. impressive

[3:26:57 pm] they are feeling the flow apparently. maybeeveryone at the organization should get in on the act.>> probably the yoga and then i would say of late it's been banana and mayo sandwiches.that's probably what dale earnhardt jr. is going to do, go to the motor coach, have abanana and mayo sandwich. >> hellman's said that's just fine with them.let's go track side and visit with hermie. >> carlos has been through a demolition derby.take us through the last couple restarts. >> our ford mustang was pretty strong. wegot hit pretty hard but it held together. proud of our ford mustang. a lot of greenflag laps. i hope everyonenjoyed it at home.
