yoga to the people seattle

what's up everyone? welcome tothe yoga with adrienne vlog. i'm adrienne. that's benji.and we're off to seattle. (music playing) oh seattle, how i love ya. how i love ya. i've been to seattle a couple of times

yoga to the people seattle

yoga to the people seattle, and i just could not wait to go back. it didn't matter how i was feeling i was pumped about seattle. ok, first of all, the pacific northwest

can i get an amen? i mean,i don't know about you where you're from, where you grew up, but obviously i'm a texasgirl and there is just nothing like your first experienceof the pacific northwest. i mean it's just so beautiful, right? it's just so gorgeousand diverse, you know. it might sound silly butwhen you come from a place like texas, you know,it's a lot of the same. and it's beautiful, so gorgeous.

and maybe that's not even true, but for me i just hadn't seen anythinglike the pacific northwest. i remember when i firstwent many moons ago, and each time i go backi get to experience a different part, sothat's also really cool. so, i've spent some time ina blizzard-y tacoma before, i've spent some time in, youknow, olympia, and mt. rainier you know hikes andgorgeous stuff, oh my god, super paradise there. but also in the city

and so this time it was just great, i was in the city and i gotto explore a little more and it was awesome. so we were there right beforehalloween and so it was this perfect, beautiful, autumnalneighborhood, queen anne. all the leaves are absolutelygorgeous, things are lush. all the halloweendecorations, really nice. so of course, as with any great travels, you set out on foot andyou find a place to eat,

you explore a little. andso that was really nice. the next day we had a whole day to explore so i packed my bag, puton my coat, and prepared for any type of weather:chilly, brisk, rainy, of course, and set out for the market. if you're not familiarwith pike's place market, which you probably are,but if you are not, it's a magical place to be,especially on the weekend when it's bustling. it'sone of the few places that

i feel like i don't getbogged down by touristy stuff. you know how sometimes, ohwherever the tourists flock you know, you don'tnecessarily want to be there. you want to go where the people go. i'm really holding back the urge to sing. little mermaid. um... anyway, pike's place market is awesome. it is a tourist-y place.it's a landmark, come on. but it's one that i love. soof course we had to go and

find the men flinging fish. ijust realized is that sexist? no, cause there's no women flinging fish. at that particular spot, there are plenty of women who fling fish? there are plenty of women working their butts off in the market. one thing i love about themarket, which i was planning to say anyway, is thediversity is so awesome from all the vendors butof course all the tourists. you know, there's somany different languages,

so many different types of food being made right in front of your eyes.right in front of your eyes! so it's really awesome, thesmells and sights and sounds. it's so cool. again, it's oneof my favorite places to go on a weekend. busy, tourist-y spot. pike's place market. i got tosee some cheese being made, i got to eat some greatfood, sample some delicious little things, shop the gifts. and then if i'm beinghonest, which i want to be,

i have to tell you ikind of made my rounds and then was quickly off to the next thing because it's kind of thesame thing every time. you just kind of go totake in the ambiance, support some of the vendors. there's the magical flowers, which i feel like is worth the trip alone, and then you move on. after the market i knew that we had to check out the water. iwanted to take the ferry,

and so we took the ferryto bainbridge island. i really wanted to just kindof walk around the island, i had been before but itwas a different time of year so it was nice to justkind of set out on foot and again, explore. youknow you get great exercise, the air there is so awesome, and it's also a fun place it's one of the few,i think, fun places to be around tourists, and watch tourists. save for disneyland, youknow, you just have to

like get into that. more on that later. so, because it was halloween time it was fun to be on the island and see you know, people incostume and or preparing people going to holiday parties. on the ferry i postedon instagram a picture of someone getting their kids ready for a halloween costume partyacross on the island. so that was fun.

it was just a reallygreat day to walk around, have oysters, and experiencea gorgeous saturday in the pacific northwest. after plenty of walking around in boots and good exercise, andof course good food, i finally made it homeearly to get prepared for the next day. do alittle legs up the wall, and find a sense of peace and rest, which i've learned is superimportant on these trips.

the next day it was a classic seattle day, super rainy and grey, but beautiful. and we went to this studio and we were a little early. and beluminous is right next to a whole foods market soi popped in there to get some flowers. i tend to liketo do this before every class. something, if i can in someway, to bring to the space to offer it to the spaceand just, you know, make it beautiful.

so i took my humble bouquet to the studio, got acquainted with thefolks at be luminous. thank you so much, beluminous, for having us. you were truly, are truly, awesome in so many ways. in addition to meetingpeople in the community we get to branch out and meet people in yoga communities and yoga studios that i would have never met otherwise. and it's really cool andit's always such a pleasure

to see kind of how they'resetup, what the vibe is, and just connect to the things that you connect to with them. it's really nice. ultimately it's just the yoga, right? they're good vibes. so this was our final stop. i felt a little emotionalas we were starting. it was warm. be luminousactually has a movable door, wall, excuse me, inbetween their two yoga studios, and they're beautiful, where they can open it up

and make the two studios one. so that's what they did for us. we were at max capacity, and we were thinking about adding anotherclass and they came to the rescue, like, just amazing, just they must have felt ustrying to add more spots and said, "hey we can bustdown the wall. want to?" and we said, "yes!" so we did, and that waywere able to accommodate

a lot of people. i think wehad 70 people, i think yeah, in our last stop. andagain it's a super diverse group of people, really reallysmart yogis, this group. and really vocal andawesome. really vocal about how they had found the channel. a lot of families on this one. we had one whole family there, mom and dad and their two gals andthey had great stories about how far they hadtaken yoga with adrienne

to different countries withthem and that was awesome. and i got to see some peoplethat i know from austin and that was so nice. and manpeople traveled pretty far, some pretty far from to join usin seattle for this roadshow. so we had travelers, people from different areas come to practice, so i wouldbe lying if even before we started the classit felt pretty special. but this class felt reverent.i don't know if it was, who knows what it was, right?

you can't try to pin itbut i'll just say that it was such a reverentclass. it was a lot of fun, and i only wish they werelonger than 90 minutes. you know i think nexttime we've got to give ourselves more time. can we? i don't know. lock in! so we finished the class bymeeting and greeting everyone, and talking. um, someone, celeste, thank you i met her the day of,she had come with a box

a beautiful shoebox ofcranes, origami cranes, and she said that shewould like to offer them to everyone as a symbolof our oneness and so we decided, we schemed towhile everyone was in savasana to put them in the frontof the mats and, you know, i don't know about youguys but i just think that this community rocks. likethe fact that we're even thinking that, andsometimes you have an idea to do something creativeor something brave

and then you don't do itbecause, the way our culture is and the way our societyis, i'm guilty of this all the time, too. i'mtrying to break free. you don't do it becauseyou're afraid that people are going to think it'stoo much or too weird. it's like, what? well, you know, know your limits, people. i don't want to be responsiblefor any grand acts of love. no, what? come on it's awesome.

so thank you for that amazing, generous, kind thoughts and for making us the cranes, celeste. and thank you everyone for embracing the entire find what feels good roadshow experience with me, andfor learning with me and there's like a squirrelthat's really trying to distract me while i'm doing this. i'm trying to say thankyou. thank you from the bottom of my heart, everyone,

even those who weren'table to make it out. we're going to be doing moretravels in the new year. i can't wait to share withyou our ideas and our plans that are actually already in the works for visiting and connecting you in all areas. i think that's it. benjido you have anything? nope. thank you. take good care. let's keep practicing. dogood. feel good. namaste.
